20 winks... Inspiration Destination (DT) #117

Hie guys! I'm back with a new DT project for Inspiration Destination this week. The challenge is ALWAYS ANYTHING GOES. So be sure to stop by and participate.

Our sponsor this week is Rick St. Dennis and I absolutely love his digi images! The image that I've used here is called '20 winks' and can be found here.

For this particular image, I wanted to create something a little complicated. And jungle scene was what sprang to mind.

I've used Spectrum Aqua markers and Derwent watercolour pencils to colour the fairy.

A lil birdie told me... Inspiration Destination (DT) #116

Heyloo everyone! This is my 2nd DT post this week. I've made this beautiful card for Inspiration Destination Challenge Blog and the theme is as always 'Anything Goes'.

Our sponsor this week is Robyn's Fetish. This beautiful image that I've used here is called 'A Little Birdie Told Me' and can be found here.

Isn't this image super kewt?! I loved colouring it with my Derwent pencils, but this time on a cardstock. Love how different products work so differently on various textures.

Christmas Deer... Craft Your Passion #342

Hie everyone! This week, I'm back with my DT card for Craft Your Passion Challenge Blog. It's always 'Anything Goes', so be sure to check it out and participate too.

Our sponsor this week is All Dressed Up (love their digi stamps!). The image that I've used here is called 'Christmas Deer' and can be found here.

I've used my Derwent colour pencils to paint this beautiful image on a vellum. I've kept the embellies to a minimum this time.

Meribelle Hello Sailor... Inspiration Destination #114

Heyloo everyone. This week, I'm back for my DT card for Inspiration Destination. The challenge is as always: Anything Goes. Our sponsor this week is Polkadoodles. The image that I've used here is a gorgeous 'Meribelle Hello Sailor' and can be found here.

I'm so in love with this image that I couldn't wait to start working on it. I coloured in with my Derwent watercolour pencils and I tried contrasting the complex image with a simple background.

Thanks for dropping by and I appreciate your feedback :).

The Lost Garden of Eve...

Heylo everyone. I'm here with a post that is very special to me. I've been in love with mixed media ever since I started crafting. But I always held off attempting it as I wanted it to be special - conceptually. I'm glad I did that, because I'm really proud of what I ended up creating.

My mixed media project is also a part of a few important challenges that I'm participating in; and hence the colour scheme.

I've been a fan of Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays ever since I watched my first mixed media project Youtube video by Arlene. Her video is also a reason I was inspired to take up crafting and re-ignite my passion for handmade articles.

For this challenge, we were to use specific colours from the following graphic:

Since I did not have the exact same colours, I got inspired by them to create teal and turquoise-like colours from the Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays that I already had. At the end of the post, you can see a list of Lindy's sprays that I've used.

Challenge #2: More than Words

Word Inspiration - SPECIAL
Creative Challenge - something OLD, something NEW, something BORROWED or something BLUE

I was inspired by the word 'Special' in the way that I ended up creating my first serious mixed media canvas attempt and it's always going to be special to me (as already explained).

Something OLD - the canvas that I made this project on, I had purchased many years ago (initially to paint on it - since I paint as a hobby) but I never got around to using it. I just stored it thinking I would create something really unique on it.

Something NEW - some of the chipboard pieces and certain Lindy's sprays used here are from my most recent craft purchase.

Something BLUE - my background has a hint of blue here and there (along with turquoise) and some of the flowers I've used are blue in colour.

Something BORROWED - the Tim Holtz miniature bottle is actually borrowed from my niece :p who in turn had got them for her Harry Potter school project.

I hope you guys like what I created :).

Thanks for dropping by and I appreciate your feedback :).

Lindy's Stamp Gang products used:
1.) Azure Sea Asters Starburst Spray
2.) Buccaneer Bronze Moon Shadow Mist
3.) Glory of the Seas Gold Starburst Spray
4.) Sea Mint Green Starburst Spray
5.) Delphinium Turquoise Magicals (Jamaican Jungle)
6.) California Poppy Yellow Magicals (Jamaican Jungle)

Winter Peggy... Craft Your Passion #340

Heyloo everyone! This week, I start with my DT project for Craft Your Passion: Anything Goes challenge #340. Our sponsor is Sasayaki Glitter. The image that I've used here is called 'Winter Peggy' and can be found here.

For this card, I've tried creating a 'magical' background with alcohol inks. It was my first time and I like how it turned out.

I've used my Derwent watercolour pencils (and I'm completely enjoying playing with them) to colour the image.

I've also stamped certain sentiments randomly and have raised a few to give a nice 3D effect.

Life is too Short to Wait... Mixed media wall decor

Hie guys! A few days ago I was contacted by Itsy Bitsy India and was asked if I would like to use their in-house brand Little Birdie's products (stencils, recently launched Colour Splash sprays, etc) in my creations. Needless to say that I said YES :d!!!

So I received the following things: 2 colour splash sprays - Black Currant and Tangerine, 1 stencil, 1 bottle of silicon glue, a pack of cream-coloured lace, and a few coloured and white cardstocks.

And...

This is what I came up with :)! A mixed media project! I've kept this project purely Itsy Bitsy-esque, hardly using any non-Itsy Bitsy products - right from flowers to stamps to cardstocks (to the stencils and sprays ofcourse). The central focus for the background is on the railing water droplet effect, and that's how I've stenciled all the different designs - in ascending heights. Same goes for my sprays in different directions.

Since there are so many amazing features of the products that I received, I'd like to highlight some of the things separately as follows:

1.) Colour sprays: I love how vibrant these sprays are, and when you use them in your mixed media projects, you get varying degrees of effect in colours through water sprays: from strongest to lightest. In various places, I also achieved a more deeper plum colour when my Tangerine spray got mixed with my Black Currant spray. I think that's pretty kewl!
2.) Silicon glue: OMG! If you are as fussy as I am when it comes to tackling the hassle of a glue gun, Itsy Bitsy's silicon glue is your answer. It is stronger and quicker (in drying) than your average craft glue, and more flexible than your glue gun. So while it dries faster, it gives you the option of adjusting your embellies to your liking without having to worry about it getting stuck to the project as soon as the glue gun hits it.
3.) Stencils: they're super beautiful! The stencil that I received had 4 different designs in it and that increases my options of getting more designs out of one stencil in various permutations and combinations! I also love the fact that every design stands out individually and can be used alone to give an elegant and simple look to any project.

Hope you guys like what I created and I would love to see some feedback from you :).

Heyloo everyone. This week for Inspiration Destination, I've made a beautiful DT card. Our sponsor this week is Fabrika Fantasy and the image that I've used is called 'Earth Fairy' and can be found here.

Little Witch... Craft Your Passion #338

Heyloo everyone. I start this week with my latest DT project for Craft Your Passion. Our sponsor this week is Fabrika Fantasy (love the stamps!). The digi image that I've used here is called 'Little Witch' and can be found here.

I got a little bored of making cards, and so I thought of doing something different. I've made a Halloweeny tag this time (which inadvertently ended up looking like a perfume bottle :P). I have a little space on top that says Happy Halloween, which opens up to a tuck space where you can stick a couple of candies (as can be seen in the 2nd picture).

(I love, LOVE, LOVE tootsie rolls :D!)

Camera shaped photo holder... Inspiration Destination No. 111

Heyloo guys. I'm back with a yet another gorgeous DT project for Inspiration Destination. This week our sponsor is (one of my favourites!), The Cutting Cafe. I love the interesting projects that are available on their website. Mine this week is a Camera Shaped Photo Holder and can be found here.

I'd been to quite a few countries in Europe recently and I thought, I'll add some of my London trip photos in this project.

Whatever project you buy from TCC, you get a template that you can either feed into your cutting machine, or in some cases - cut by hand. Since I don't have a cutting machine just yet, I hand cut the template and folded it along the middle to allow it to open to a snug space inside where photos can be stored in a pocket.

I hope you like my new project and thanks for dropping by :). I appreciate your feedback.

Heyloo guys. I'm back with another DT project for this week's Inspiration Destination challenge. Our sponsor is The East Wind; and the image that I've used here is called 'Aurora Love You'. It can be found here.

Isn't this image just adorable? I had so much fun colouring her hair; and would you believe that I've used watercolours to do that? No markers, no pencils, no pens. Just watercolour paints. For the rest of the image, I've used my Spectrum Aqua markers.

Acorn Mouse... Craft Your Passion Challenge No. 334

Heyloo everyone. This week I'm back with my 2nd DT post for Craft Your Passion and I feel good! Coz I tried a really fun image and card this week. And I'm so happy with the outcome.

Our sponsor this week is Digital Delights by Louby Loo and the image that I've used here is called 'Acorn Mouse' and can be found here.

I've gone with an Autumn theme for this image. Although that wasn't my intention at first, but as always, once I started making the card, it inadvertently exhibited autumn colours. So I just went ahead with it :D.

Hitchin' a Ride... Craft Your Passion Challenge No. 332

I'm excited to share my first DT project for Craft Your Passion. The theme is Always Anything Goes and our sponsor this week is Imagine That! Digis by Kris. The digi that I've used on this card is 'Hitchin' a Ride' which can be found here.

I've created a mixed media background and this week, I though of creating a few layers for the card. I coloured the image with watercolours and laid it out on a couple of layers for a 3d effect and personality.

Hope you liked my card and thanks for dropping by.

Elf with Poppy Blooms... Inspiration Destination Challenge No. 105

After a long time, I finally can find the time to post my DT project on the same day it goes live on Inspiration Destination lol. This week was so much fun creating the DT card. Our sponsor is Aurora Wings (love the name!) and the digi stamp that I used this week is called Elf with Poppy Blooms which can be found here.

I completely love the dreamy effect this stamp has; and colouring it was so much fun. This time, I tried (more like went back to using) watercolour paints to try and get a different appeal and effect from the colouring. I then layered the card, added flowers and sentiments and ribbons.

Hope you liked my project and thanks for leaving some feedback :).

Last week for Inspiration Destination Challenge No. 104, I made a cover for my planner cum diary. The sponsor was Polkadoodles and the image I used was Eden Blossoms from their Eden Collection. The same can be found here.

This time, I tried using my watercolour pencils on Vellum and I think it was pretty ok. I embellished the image with a lot of stamped and fussy cut flowers and leaves.

Elven Beauty... Inspiration Destination Challenge No. 100

Heyloo everyone. Sorry for a late post, but I've been really REALLY busy :(. So getting on with this week's Inspiration Destination Challenge #100, I've had so much fun colouring this amazing page provided by our sponsor Fabrika Fantasy. This colouring page is called Elven Beauty and can be found here.

I've always enjoyed colouring since my childhood and I was so happy when I get to colour pages again! I've coloured this gorgeous page with my Spectrum Aqua and it's no secret now that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Spectrum markers. They are versatile and you can take your own time to play around with them.

Thanks for stopping by and I would love to know what you think.

Tooth Fairy: make a wish... Inspiration Destination Challenge No. 99

My DT post for this week at Inspiration Destination is very special. Our sponsor this week is Cute As A Button and I've used their pretty Tooth Fairy stamp which can be found here

I've made this kewt folder for my niece's 11th birthday and I hope she likes it. She loves fantasy and fairies; and this stamp seemed perfect for her.

I've used a lot of different colouring products for the stamp (colour pencils, distress inks and Lindy's Stamp Gang magicals); and LOTS of different coloured glitter.

Love how LSG magicals glitter when the light hits them.

For the inside, I've customised her name on the pocket, with a few tags. On the right, there are 5 pockets with tags (accordion style) and lots of journalling space on the flip side. At the bottom, there's a vellum pocket with a kewt miniature handmade vellum diary.

Thanks for dropping by and I would love to know what you think.

It's 'Planner' Time...!

Heyloo. I'm so excited to share this week's DT project for Inspiration Destination Challenge #98. I've never worked with cutting files, so I was quite enthusiastic this time; with our sponsor being The Cutting Cafe

My project for this week is the 2016 Planner which you can find here. Oh they've got fab projects and cutting files! Absolutely in love with their planners! And I'm happy the way mine turned out.

(Pics best viewed in full screen.)

There are many different tabs and planner pages (which come with the planner pack) like contacts, calendar, months, dates and space for making notes, to-do lists, blank pages, notes, shopping lists, weekly menu/dinner and so much more.

I've added a kewt pen holder to keep a pen handy at all times. On the inside, I've added a vellum pocket to provide a translucent cover for storing various loose things in it, for easier visibility.

Thank you for stopping by and I would love to hear what you think about my project.
